Red Innpulso is the Spanish Network of Science and Innovation Cities, a forum for town halls and city councils that have the title of Science and Innovation City, and whose aim is to advance in the definition and application of innovative local policies. Currently, this network is made up of 112 cities and towns of all sizes. La Rinconada is in the Population of 20,001‑100,000 Inhabitants category.
This network seeks to strengthen collaboration among town halls and city councils, allowing them to share their best management practices and public communication initiatives. Furthermore, it promotes policies such as support for SMEs and innovative entrepreneurs, defining criteria for innovation, participation in projects within the Horizon Europe framework, and public procurement of innovation. Public procurement of innovation or innovative solutions (PPI) allows public authorities to use their purchasing power to adopt innovative and competitive solutions. It utilizes demand for products, services, and functionalities as a way to incentivize the development of public policies that meet the procurers’ needs. This allows governments to foster new technologies and services for the benefit of all citizens.
