This lever’s goal is to advance towards a more balanced, sustainable and cohesive territorial model. It includes investments and reforms to improve the quality of life in urban and rural areas in order to promote a smart and sustainable urban development, revitalize rural areas, and slow down depopulation. In addition, it also promotes the modernization of the agricultural sector, as well as the development of more sustainable, digital, and resilient food systems. The Spanish Urban Agenda and the Rural Agenda are key frameworks within this strategy, which is aligned with the principles of sustainability, digitalization, and social and territorial cohesion.
